Heidegger equates 'building' with 'being in the world' with making our own world. 'Dreamhouse,' an installation and performance, investigates the physicality of building, being, dreaming, making and unmaking as well as the reciprocity between oursleves and the objects around us.
Scale is also brought into question as piles of gravel begins to create a 'landscape' inside the floating and moving 'walls' of a proto-structure. The three performers respond to one another's body movements as they respond to, create and destroy their moving environment. The sound piece seeks to connect the humdrum of the everyday with the metaphysical. (A record of the performance is viewable here) |
